"Unearthing History, Renewing Community: Oaklawn Cemetery Preservation Initiative"
This initiative has the following goals:

Transform the 20-acre grounds into a beautiful, enchanting, and inviting green space for the Mobile community at the end of a three-year residency

Plant lovely ground coverings to replace the invasive weeds creating floral flooring visible in all directions

Clear walkways towards the towering Oak trees, Pine trees, Popular trees, Ash trees and other species to be determined

Restore Oaklawn Cemetery to a level of care and beauty commensurate with its historical and cultural importance

Promote intergenerational accountability and sustainability via employment and volunteer opportunities to descendants of the interred

Contribute to the aesthetic and environmental well-being of the surrounding community
